Siem Riep

Our last night in Phnom Penh was Halloween,  and we went to the new shopping centre next to the hotel.  It was a very popular place with the locals, people were dressed up, there was face painting, photos with pumpkins , dancing competitions, and lots of families out enjoying themselves.  We were just looking for a cheap dinner.

We really haven't seen much of Phnom Penh, will do the main attractions when we return to fly home from there.

This morning we caught a bus to Siem Riep, good bus, roads varying from dual highway to dirt track.  The bus drove in the accepted manner, straight down the middle unless something bigger than it was approaching.

Our Sofitel in Siem Riep is even more impressive than the last one.  Much bigger grounds, and a real resort atmosphere.

Once we had checked in, it was time for afternoon tea.
This evening, we had dinner in the fancy restaurant ( included except for the wine)
After an appetiser of creme brulee ( why, only the locals would know,), our entrees arrived, salmon for Peter and banana flower salad for Pam
We both had the main of duck and chicken
And the mango tart for dessert.
Now we need to rest before our buffet breakfast.  Off to the temples tomorrow.
